Baklava's origins are debated, but it's widely recognized as a dish from the Ottoman Empire, particularly in its modern form. The dessert is now prevalent across the Middle East, the Balkans, and various Mediterranean regions. While some suggest earlier influences from ancient Greece and Persia, the Ottoman Empire is credited with popularizing and refining the pastry. 


We recommend removing Baklava, from its original packaging, and placing it in a covered Tupperware container (whether plastic or glass). It is best to keep Baklava at room temperature and when the warm summer weather arrives, it is recommended to place any remaining Baklava in the refrigerator.

Bend Baklava's recipes are all created based on taste. That is to say that when I was growing-up, I never learned the exact ingredients my mother used in her recipes. Rather, as I began to make Baklava, I would use my sense of smell and taste to recreate her delicacies.


Bend Baklava does taste different than any other Baklava and that is because it is made with healthy ingredients. Often times, Baklava is known for its strong sweet taste due to sugar syrup.
